Dr. Kumar's Milestones
- Surgeries: Successfully completed 54,000 surgeries as of April 2020.
- Laparoscopic Procedures: Performed over 12,000 laparoscopic procedures.
- Obstetric and Gynaecological Surgeries: Conducted close to 16,000 surgeries, including gynaecological procedures.
- Diabetic Limb Salvage: Saved around 2,500 limbs from necrosis or amputation due to diabetes.
- Haemorrhoidectomy: Performed 8,300 haemorrhoidectomy procedures as of April 2020. Holds a record for completing a haemorrhoidectomy in 6 minutes and 30 seconds, which he plans to document in a surgical forum soon.
- Training: Trained 30 doctors in general, gynaecological, and laparoscopic surgeries.
- Bomb Blast Treatment: Treated 74 patients injured in the Coimbatore bomb blast in 1998.
- Pioneer: First surgeon to establish a surgical unit in Anthiyur, a village in Erode District.
- Lions Club: Held various roles, including President of the Club, Zone Chairperson, and Regional Chairperson. Conferred PMJF by Lions International Organization for his community service.
- Old Age Home: Instrumental in receiving a grant from LCIF for the commencement of an old age home located at Kalapatti, Coimbatore.

- Academic Excellence: Multiple gold medalist during MBBS training.
- Recognition: Conferred the title “Doctor of Excellence” by Padmashri Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman of KG Foundation. Also conferred the prestigious PMJF by Lions International.
- Patient Care: Treated over 1 million patients.
- Uterine Fibroid Treatment: Successfully led a team that treated more than 7,500 uterine fibroid patients.
- Project Conception to Confinement: Benefited 160 antenatal patients with a total worth of Rs. 18 lakhs.
- Deliveries: Conducted 7,700 normal deliveries.
- Medical Camps: Conducted 720 free medical camps.

CSR Fever Tele Clinic - A Pan India Project
- Initiative: Launched the first 24-hour fever tele clinic for COVID-affected patients in India.
- Coverage: Provided consultation, COVID medicine, and precautionary measures delivered to patients’ doorsteps across all states in India.
Telemedicine Village - Bridging Urban and Rural Health Care
- Innovation: Established the first telemedicine village in South India.
- Purpose: Aimed to bring urban healthcare facilities to villages across India. The first setup was initiated at Dr. Bhat’s Nursing Home, Peralam, a remote village in Thiruvarur District.
CSR COVID Care Centre (CSR CCC)
- Success: Operated the most successful COVID Care Centre in Coimbatore at Subhashree Hotels, Ram Nagar, benefiting over a thousand COVID-positive patients.
- Recovery Rate: Achieved a recovery rate of nearly 98%, above the average recovery rate of Coimbatore District.
- Team: Led by Dr. K. Sooraj Kumar, the exclusive COVID care team comprised doctors, staff, respiratory therapists, dieticians, catering units, administration team, security forces, pharmacy, laboratory, and housekeeping services.
- Objective: Provided quality care at an affordable cost to the public.
CSR Groups - Yearly Progress
1993
Became one of the first centres in Coimbatore to have an ambulance available round the clock.
1994
Installed a laparoscopy unit, becoming one of the first centres to provide laparoscopic services.
1995
Inaugurated CSR Dental Clinic.
1996
Expanded CSR Nursing Home to a 35-bedded centre with a state-of-the-art twin OT complex.
1997-98
Founded CSR Charitable Trust.
1999
Successfully completed 100 free medical camps.
2000
Established BeeHIVe Care Centre, a comprehensive centre for HIV-infected patients.
2001
Successfully completed 250 medical camps.
2003
Conducted a mega free dental camp, the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu, providing full denture treatment free of cost.
2004
Launched the first mobile dental van in the western part of Tamil Nadu.
2004-05
Conducted a second mega free dental camp. Commenced the Home for the Aged.
2006
Successfully completed 500 medical camps.
2008
Conducted a third mega free dental camp.
2010
Purchased a 10-bedded medical centre at Peralam in Thiruvarur District.
2011
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam presented a dialysis unit to the CSR Groups.
2012
Relaunched the Project Conception to Confinement, benefiting 89 mothers.
2013
Upgraded the OT complex of CSR Nursing Home with HEPA filter and laminar air flow unit.
2014-15
Installed a C-Arm unit in CSR Nursing Home.
2016

Performed the first hip replacement surgery. Commenced Project ANEDENT.
